Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls
- #1 played ball on the PGA Tour
- Choose the ProV1 or ProV1x to meet your performance needs
Product Description
The Titleist Pro V1 represents the coalescence of three of Titleist's industry leading technologies: large solid core, multi-component construction, and high performance Urethane Elastomer cover technology. Fast initial velocity, lower spin and high launch combine to produce a flatter, less arcing ascent and straight ball flight for exceptional driver and long iron distance. The trajectory profile of the New Titleist Pro V1 generates a steep angle of descent into the green and provides Drop-and-Stop performance on approach shots.
The Titleist Pro V1x delivers very low driver and iron spin combined with very high speed. The result is exceptionally long distance and a straight flight, particularly for the game's hardest hitters. Amazon.com Product Description
The Titleist Pro V1 golf ball is designed for serious golfers of all levels that demand Tour-validated technology and performance. The ball offers such essential features as a soft and resilient core that improves your feel and distance, a resilient Ionomer casing layer, and a high-performance Urethane Elastomer cover. The technologies combine to produce low spin off your driver or irons, while maintaining soft compression for outstanding feel when approaching the greens. Golfers will especially appreciate the Pro V1's Drop-and-Stop control, which helps them better influence the spin on approach shots. The A.I.M. side stamp, meanwhile, is terrific for putting, as it helps you align the ball with the hole. Other details include a higher-coverage 392-dimple design that improves the flight trajectory and a staggered wave parting line that enhances distance. Titleist also sells an upgraded version of the Pro V1 called the Pro V1x. Designed to boost distance even more, the Pro V1x retains many of the same features of the Pro V1--including the staggered wave parting line, A.I.M. side stamp, and Stop-and-Drop control system--but offers a 332-dimple design for added length, along with a soft-center 1.55-inch dual core design that produces less spin off the driver and long irons. This makes the Titleist Pro V1x particularly valuable for the game's hardest hitters, as it's longer off the tee than the Pro V1. Golfers who want a softer feel should opt for the Pro V1 instead.

Summary: One of the best balls to play BUT....... 2009-06-03
Comment: The ProV1 is an excellent ball to play if you're in the single digit handicap range. As much as I would love to play another ball that was cheaper I unfortunately have to suck it up and pay the price in order to play my best.
Although this is a great ball why in the world would anyone pay more than $50 for a dozen of these balls? Most of the retail golf stores, and sporting good stores, sell this ball for about $45 plus tax. Why pay $60+ and wait for the shipping on these balls?
Amazon is usually a great place to buy stuff at a discount, however these golf balls are marked WAY above retail so I would highly discourage someone from buying these from Amazon. You would be much better off going through Dick's Sporting, Nevada Bob's, Roger Dunn's, Golfsmith, etc.

Summary: beware of hype/high price buy used/reject balls instead 2009-04-28
Comment: I have read all these reviews and am honestly getting really perturb at how much lying and misinformation is actually being made by Titleist staff members posing as other reviewers using fictitious nicknames and ids. and If anyone posts anything they don't like they smear or deface the review. So they aren't going to like my review. Watch and see they HAVE to try and discredit me it's their job. Titleist balls are ok but are way over priced. What you should do is get a batch of reject or used prov. Reject balls are just painted wrong nothing else is wrong with them, as for used All balls have a limited amount of hits they can take around 100 before they break. Most used balls have 60 hits left in them. And the price for used and reject balls are way cheaper than $60-$100 for a brand new box $20-$40 for used. The production price for a dozen pro-v being $12-$18 a dozen. I have yet to see a hole spit out a golf ball because it was a reject/used ball. I have given these balls out as a gifts and when they find out how little they cost they pay me to buy them again and again for them.
The truth is Acushnet Company and all others pay big bucks to get positive ads online, in newspapers, ads, and they hire people in tournaments/contests and do this by sponsoring as many players as they can. Most Just like the money they get from them but don't really care who's equipment it is. they are paid to say they like it, it's just part of the deal for them. Now These people and ads cost money and Titleist doesn't want us to know they can order rejected/used balls at huge discounts they lose money. Also they don't want you to know that most of what you hear them saying about their balls is all lies and fluff. Truth is there are limits and regulations in all golf tourneys as to what balls and clubs are allowed to be able to do and what they are made of. Because of this and all golf equipment have to follow these guidelines and limitations. No ball is allowed to just go farther than any other because its cheating. It's like corking a bat in baseball . Now all manufacturers test and retest the spin rate of balls on their own products in line with competitors balls and rip them off. This happens so often that lawsuits about patents are commonplace. that's why there is a new design of pro-v. Truth is no ball or club can magically or scientifically correct a bad swing, make your swings straighter or cover lack of practice/talent. So be careful with what you read and your money, buy Rejects and used balls.

Summary: Who would pay this price? 2009-01-30
Comment: The ProV1 is a great golf ball. It's not my regular choice - I use Bridgestones, but you can't go wrong with this one. What I don't understand is who would pay these prices for the golf balls? Check your local golf stores, the every day price is lower than this, and somebody is usually having a sale.

Summary: A great ball, but pricy 2009-01-25
Comment: They state that the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball is "designed for serious golfers of all levels that demand Tour-validated technology and performance." Ok, what does this mean in layman's terms besides being very expensive?
The ball does improves your feel and distance if hit correctly. It does produce lower spin off your clubs in general to control approaches and placement around the greens. They will not make you a Tiger Woods, but nothing will.
I played with both the softer, more forgiving ProV1 and the longer, less controllable ProV1x. For me, I fell in love with the ProV1 and spend a lot me time enjoying and improving my game as I look for a second job to afford the balls and the rising cost of green fees.
